New website and new graphics -- the style of the vTheatre pages isn't developed yet. quotes

"I have nothing to say / and I am saying it / and that is poetry / as I needed it" --John Cage

"If something is boring after two minutes, try it for four. If still boring, then eight. Then sixteen. Then thirty-two. Eventually one discovers that it is not boring at all." --John Cage.

"The first question I ask myself when something doesn't seem to be beautiful is why do I think it's not beautiful. And very shortly you discover that there is no reason." --John Cage.

"Which is more musical: a truck passing by a factory or a truck passing by a music school?" --John Cage

I do not plan to "rewrite" the plays, but "wright" the show (play); this is directing.

"The difference between text and hypertext lies precisely in the role played by the medium itself, HTML, but also its host, the Net, allowing the reader a far more interactive role that includes the possibility of entering the work of art by the means of the very act of reading itself." (Giannachi 15)

"It is essential to put an end to the subjugation of the theatre to the text, and to recover the notion of a kind of unique language half-way between gesture and thought." -Antonin Artaud. "The Theatre and its Double"

Virtual Theatres: An Introduction by Gabriella Giannachi; Routledge, 2004 ***

... Hypertext, just like Babel's library, has no beginning, middle or end. Its architecture mirrors the infinite nature of the universe. Yet in hypertext not only is the reader the explorer, and hence the true author of the work of art, but also their presence is written into the work of art. The reader is therefore inside the meta-architecture, inside the work of art, and it is through the reader's 'interaction' with the text that the work of art manifests itself. (16)

Since these early examples of hypertext writing, hypertext fiction and theory have been explored in numerous directions. Charles Deemer's hyperdramas comprise original pieces incorporating rewrites of classic play texts, including Anton Chekhov's The Seagull (1895), in which Deemer wrote scenes for the off-stage characters.
